| My boyfriend told me to "pose, dammit!" |
I sewed this abbreviated bateau top yesterday. This is the very last smidgen from a fabric care-package that my boyfriend sent to me when I was living in Wyoming. I've made three Breton tops out of it, but there wasn't enough to squeeze two long sleeves out. What do you think? I reckon it works but I'd have preferred the classic long sleeved, horizontal stripes.
Let's just call it "mod" and stick with that.

I really like that top - I love Bateau Necklines. Did you use a pattern?
I've sewn a few similar tops, but I seem to always make the neck opening too wide and have trouble hiding my bra straps...
Bwah! That's so me and my husband: we share the bonus room: my sewing machines and craft table are in one corner, his reloading reading desk (because the reloading table is in the garage) and gun safes are in the opposite corner. The same day I received The Complete Serger Handbook he received The ABCs of Reloading...when I purchased my Viking Husqvarna sewing machine he said he was going to get a Husqvarna rifle (apparently the company started as a gun maker, but expanded to making sewing machines and other motorized equipment in the 19th century).
Too funny! Maybe sewing and shooting somehow complement each other as his 'n' hers hobbies. I find that he always has useful little screwdrivers, or the perfect kind of machine oil. Does your husband hunt?
Hi Caroline, this is Latrice (Trice) from SewTell.
I would love to nominate your blog for the Liebster Award.
However, I need to make sure your blog has less than 200 followers.
I hope to post about the award by the end of the week. Thanks
Thanks Latrice! I'm pretty sure I'm under 200! How exciting!
Bwahahaha! Your boyfriend's comment is hilarious! Love your bateau top. It's perfect with those nautical stripes!
