Those who sew from Patrones walk a lonely road. Oh sure, we all love Burda, and can discuss the ins and ours of sewing from it indefinitely, but where's the cyber hand-holds for the lonely Patrones sewist?
Add I've mentioned before I have a wonderfully reliable hookup in Barcelona who barters copies of Patrones with my mum. Even though I now have a stack of these wonderful mags I rarely use them. Why? Because I am an in between size; I am a size 42 which means that the Patrones doesn't mark the style lines. (the magazine has style lines for size 40, size 44 and size 48. In between sizes have to trace their own lines between the marked lines). Somehow this extra step is just enough of a pain in the ass that I never actually want to do it.
All this is changing now; there's just too many great designs in the latest issue of the magazine for me not to give in and trace my size.
I am tracing the incredibly chic blazer with attached waistcoat and am also tracing out in 1960 style spring coat to use my Marc Jacobs from mood fabric.
Is there anyone out there who knows the secrets to sewing from Patrones or am I on my own here?
